One week to go. Summer is about to make its official return, and summer means... colors! At Flotte, colors are at the heart of our creations. Because rain is all too often seen as gloomy and sad, we've chosen to create colorful raincoats that put a little pep in our lives! The aim: to make you want to go out in the rain, even if it's just to wear our colorful recycled raincoat.
So why are colors so important in our lives? Why, and above all how, do they play a role in our mood, even when it's raining? Today, the editors of Flotte try to explain why it's essential to make your life a rainbow of colors!

Colors have power over you
Are we teaching you something if we tell you that colors impact our senses and feelings? It's a well-known fact that colorful atmospheres and places bring joy to life, make you happy, and that, on the contrary, dark colors and atmospheres tend to plunge you into a bad mood ☹️ Even if we, rain lovers at heart, appreciate the stormy, dark weather of rainy days 😏
The truth is that colors are much more than just pigments that our eye perceives. They act more broadly and influence our perceptions, impressions, and sometimes even our judgment!
So, this or that person could well make a bad impression on us, just by being dressed in a color we don't like, or that is commonly given a bad connotation.
And it's precisely because colors have meanings and influence perceptions that we pay attention to the clothes we wear at important moments in our lives (like a job interview, for example). We want to show our personality, while making a good impression!
And yes, wearing colors is also a way of expressing yourself. That's why we all have our favorite and least favorite colors. It's a way, albeit often unconscious, of expressing our thoughts, feelings, moods and states of mind!
Like astrology, you could almost identify an individual's personality by the colors they wear.
What do the colors of our raincoats mean?
King Blue
Blue is a color widely appreciated by people, and is even the favorite color of a large proportion of Westerners. Perhaps this is because we're surrounded by water, and blue inevitably refers to the ocean, the sea, the sky, and all the horizons they reveal. Blue implies freedom and dreams. That's why blue is often associated with melancholy.
It's a color full of lightness, calm and serenity. A common association is that of truth, for its connotation with water and its obvious transparency.
While all these meanings associated with blue are real, our royal blue also contains other facets. It's electric, dynamic and even brave. To wear royal blue is to assert your self-confidence and freedom. It's one of our favorite colors! If you're as dynamic and bubbly as royal blue, our flagship Amelotmodel is the Flotte raincoat for you 😉
Lilac
Lilac is a soft purple, pastel and light. It's synonymous with softness, tranquility and serenity. It also has that dreamy, even meditative dimension. It's even considered reassuring! It calms the emotions, and is therefore particularly suited to delicate people, those who are more spiritual than material.
In this way, like blue, it's a color often associated with melancholy and solitude, but not necessarily in a bad way! If your favorite color is lilac, think of yourself as independent and dreamy...
For you, we offer three of our models in lilac! Discover theAmelot, Anatole (the waterproof work jacket revisited for rain), and Concorde (a long rain jacket with snap buttons!).
Emerald
Named after the famous green gemstone, emerald is a color that implies a certain spirituality, serenity and undisputed wisdom. One could almost speak of grandeur...
On clothing, it's a luminous color. For us, it tends towards a lagoon blue that can only be seen in the turquoise waters of tropical beaches! It's also an invitation to travel, to escape, almost dreamlike.
Yet it's very real! And you can find it on our Amelotrain jacket .
Sage green
What does green make you think of? Nature, of course! It's the color most often used to represent nature, the environment, ecology, bio... both in logos and in common usage.
But green represents so much more. It's also freshness, a soothing color synonymous with luck, hope and stability.
As for our sage green, it's a light green tending towards jade. This gives it a soft, gem-like effect, like emerald. It's a color that catches the light while blending into the decor. It has a restful, soothing elegance, and brings real harmony around it.
Our Amelot, Concorde and Madeleinewaterproof jackets embody these values to perfection.
Bonbon, our rose!
Pink is a tender, delicate color, often perceived as girly and for little girls. But that doesn't mean it can't be emancipated! It's also dynamic, often associated with youth and happiness.
As Edith Piaf so aptly put it, we like to see life in pink.
In fact, "voir la vie en rose" is an expression that emphasizes optimism, cheerfulness and the desire to simply be happy! In short, pink is a sweet color that we love to wear. If you love it as much as we do, take a look at our Amelot bonbon rain jacket 🍬 (and for a little more pizzazz, we've got the tart version too)!

Citron
Citron is our yellow! We chose it sparkling and sunny, reminiscent of the color of the sun in the middle of the day. It's also the color of friendship! And between you and us, a real relationship has been created and continues to be forged. Here's to our #TeamFlotte! 🥂
Yellow is a dynamic color, synonymous with celebration, summer (of course), life and movement. It expresses joy and literally brightens up an outfit!
In summer, it's an ideal color, but during all other seasons, it's also a real vector of joy. At Flotte, we've chosen it for our Amelot, Concorde and Madeleineraincoats ! And if you prefer a softer version, we've also got Amelot and Concorde Vanille to satisfy you.

Orange
Like yellow, orange is a cheerful color. In fact, this sparkling color is often synonymous with creativity 🎨
A little less obvious, it's also associated with communication, and orange fans are open-minded!
All these characteristics make it an icon of optimism and benevolence. Just like you, if you're a fan of this color! Our orange stars are Amelot (yes, always!) and the Anatole waterproof work jacket !
Rouge
Rouge is a powerful, meaningful and much-appreciated color! It's far from discreet, and imposes its presence. That's why it's synonymous with power, even triumph at times.
While its intensity is undeniable, it is also associated with danger and blood, for obvious reasons 🩸
A final connotation is that of ... 🥁 love! Ah red roses, passion, sensuality. So many images of the Rouge we all know, accept and use! Who hasn't represented love with a red heart on a drawing?
What does our red Amelot raincoat suggest to you? Dangerous or passionate?
Between rouge and orange: Ginger
To finish off this review of Flotte's summer colors, I'd like to mention Ginger!
This color, halfway between Rouge and orange, is soft and fresh, bringing a breath of fresh air to the outfit, a little something extra!
Ginger expresses passion and love like Rouge, and creativity like orange. Her shade brings a new connotation to all these dimensions: talent. So, are you talented, creative and passionate enough to wear one of our Ginger pieces?
Choose from the following: Anatole, Amelot, Concorde, Madeleine. A whole range of waterproof jackets, short, long, with zipper or snap buttons!
So, which color will you dare to wear? 😏
