10 activités sportives à faire seul ou à plusieurs ! - Flotte

10 sporting activities to do alone or with others!

Adventurers, sports enthusiasts, people who like to push themselves to the limit - we know there are many of you out there with profiles like these, and some even crazier. Fans of all kinds of sporting activities, from the most common to the most fun, you're constantly on the lookout for a new way to expend your energy and have fun at the same time. Because what's the point of sweating if you don't enjoy it ?

At Flotte, we love to keep up with our adventurers and come up with new ideas for sporting outings that are accessible to all (or almost all) during the vacations. So we've put together a short list of ideas, and since we're sharing everything here, we've decided to give it to you.

CLASSIC, NO-FRILLS SPORTS IDEAS

Among the most popular: running 👟

When the subject of running comes up, there are two types of people: those who absolutely don'twant to hear about it, who are already rolling on the floor just thinking about it, and the addicts, those for whom running "is a drug" (literally, if you listen to them).

Running may divide people, but that doesn't stop the 13.5 million French people who run... from running! And for good reason: running makes you live longer. It's a sporting activity which, if practised regularly and at your own pace, increases your lifespan and your health. If running is a sport we like to call "cardio", it's because it helps improve your heart health.

So what are you waiting for? Put on your best sportswear and go for a run on the quays, by the Seine, on the beach or in the fields near your home? That's the great thing about running: any place can be a playground for runners!

Trail running: improved ⛰️

This is for those who don't like running. Because, really, why don't you like running? Because it's tiring, it's boring, it's pointless apart from hurting yourself... But running can also be an adventure, and God knows we love adventures at Flotte! That's what trail running is all about, but it's not all about running. You run on trails, paths, flat or uneven ground, in the mountains, in the forest... in short, anywhere but on the asphalt road back home.

When you trail, you're not just concentrating on the run, but rather on the scenery, the surroundings, the freedom, the fresh air... It's a moment you spend with yourself (or with others) and enjoy. It's a sporting activity that can be enjoyed in summer, winter, spring and autumn. So it's important to protect yourself in case of rain! Our iconic Amelot is the ideal waterproof jacket for your trail, running or hiking outings, for example!

Hiking 🥾

As much as we love running, walking is also a great way to exercise! Hiking is the sports activity for walking enthusiasts, and can be done on the flat, on hiking trails around your home, but also on vacation in the Alps or Pyrenees. In France and abroad, there are numerous hiking trails, including the famous GR! Follow the 10 if you're in the Pyrenees, or the 20 if you're in Corsica... These long-distance hiking trails are signposted and allow you to do: a short section for fun, more sporting hikes lasting several days, right up to hiking trips lasting several weeks! So, no more excuses, grab your rucksack, your hiking boots and set off to explore the most beautiful hiking landscapes!

For family fun ❤️

Orienteering

Orienteering is a great way to exercise calmly, while having fun using your brain. While it can be done alone, it's also great fun as a family. Parents and children alike enjoy solving the riddles to progress through the race and complete the course. You can do orienteering in the forest, in the mountains, and even in town! It's a popular activity that can be enjoyed by everyone, and there are orienteering courses at various levels, so you can adapt the outing to the age of the participants, for example. For family activities like orienteering, don't hesitate to dress to match with our raincoat models for the whole family! At Flotte, we dress men, women and even children 😉

Cycling outings 🚲

Ahh cycling... On vacation or at home, it's always a sporting activity that doesn't seem all that sporty to us. In general, cycling is a lot of fun for those who enjoy it, whether they're regular cyclists or not. Even when you're a child, learning to ride a bike is a real event: it's the moment you've been waiting for, the moment when you can finally take off your little wheels and ride like a grown-up! In short, while cycling can sometimes require a bit of physical effort (when going uphill, for example 🥵 ), it's still an enjoyable sporting activity that lets you observe the landscape around you as you keep moving. What's more, there are plenty of cycling-friendly towns, and on vacation in seaside towns, it's always a pleasure to pedal to the beach.

Canyoning, a different way to discover gorges

With grown-up children (aged 8 and over, provided they can swim), you can set off on an adventure in the water gorges of many sites, such as the Gorges du Verdon ! A real adventure, this activity involves walking in the water, overcoming small obstacles, sliding down rocky slides and even swimming, all while wearing a harness. There are several types of course for different levels, but it's best to start with a beginner's level, both for children and for you if you've never done one before.

For those who want to spice up their outings 🌶️

To port! Try your hand at kayaking 🛶

Activities in and on the water are also among our favorites! As you already know, at Flotte we love water, whether it comes from the sky or lies beneath our feet. So we thought a trip with friends or family to go kayaking on a river near us might be a good idea. To be ready for any uninvited and unwanted splashes, we'll be wearing our Amelots!

Rafting: raising the bar

If you're not familiar with rafting, it's an aquatic sport practised in river rapids, in teams and on inflatable boats. In rafting, you can go over waves and rollers, small waterfalls and even rocks. It's a long way from a quiet river... So hang on tight and stay covered to make the most of the experience!

How about climbing a mountain? 🧗

At first, we thought it would be kind of fun to climb a mountain. But then we realized that it might be 10 times better to do it in an exceptional setting, rather than in a gym surrounded by other climbers, amateur or professional. So, we turned to mountain climbing - how attractive is that? OK, so maybe we're not going to climb an entire mountain to its summit (although we'd love to be able to do that), but we can give it a try. Why not make it our next team building event?

For the craziest among us: crossing a country

The Great Himalaya Trail

What if we told you we were going to cross a country? It's possible, so possible that some of us have already done it. It's happening in Nepal on the Great Himalaya Trail, a long, high trail that crosses the country and passes through parts of India. Some 1,400 km long, it passes through the Himalayas' highest peaks, isolated villages and exceptional scenery.

There are two versions of this route:

  • The Haute Route, which takes you on this high-flying trek, staying as close as possible to the high peaks.
  • The Cultural Trail, which stays lower in the mountains and passes through villages.

If you ever decide to take on this challenge (provided you're well prepared, of course), we've got a whole range of clothing and accessories ready to go with you: water bottles, plaid, men's and women's coats , mixed waterproof jackets, fleeces... In short, a whole panoply of essentials for such adventurers! 🗺️
