What does it mean to be a pluviophile?
Being a pluviophile could be summed up as simplyliking the rain. In itself, it's pretty simple. But in reality, there's a lot more to it than that. Because liking the rain doesn 't simply mean liking to go out in the rain, as one might at first imagine.
Pluviophiles like to see the sky darken when rainy weather is forecast. They like to watch the rain unleash itself like a spectacle before their eyes, and then listen to it too, like an orchestra accompanying this beautiful world.
We're nature lovers, and nature lovers love it from all angles, even the slippery ones. If rain is often associated with gloom, and people get depressed at the thought of spending several days in the rain, and don't like getting soaked, for rain lovers it's the opposite. Knowing that rainy weather is on the way for the next few days is great news! We'd much prefer that to announcements of summer heatwaves...
Maybe you recognize yourself in this description, or maybe you don't... So, to help you see things more clearly, today we're talking about 5 signs indicating that you are indeed a rain lover (a little, a lot, or passionately...)! ☔
Sign 1: you love stormy skies
One of the most obvious signs is the feeling you get when you see gray clouds on the horizon. Those beautiful, dark, imposing clouds that dress up the sky. Their arrival always imposes a special mood on the environment, whether in town or in the countryside for that matter.
And if you like dark skies, it's even better when thunder rumbles in the distance. When you can feel the sky and the surrounding atmosphere growing heavier, more prepared, more panicked about what's brewing right there above your head. What you also love is finally being able to feel the first fresh drops of rain falling from the sky, like an inevitable fulfillment 💧

Sign 2: you appreciate comfort and being able to observe the rainy weather from the inside
Ahh the warm comforter, being able to bundle up in your plaid in front of a Netflix series or afternoon TV movies, feeling protected and soothed in the face of the rain that keeps falling right there, outside the window. It's a feeling that many people appreciate, as it makes you feel unattainable, as if you're invincible in your cocoon. There's an air of inner peace. Relaxation can take the place of stress and anxiety, and the mind can finally empty itself. In fact, you feel safe and you love it ☁️
Sign 3: The sound of rain soothes you
Flip, flop, flip, flop... Can you hear them, those drops falling and crashing on the ground? Better still, you look for them. You want to capture that moment when the drop falls, just so you can hear the sound. Ever heard ofASMR ? It's the effect the sound of rain has on you. You're one of those people who could (or already do) fall asleep to the sound of rain.
Sign 4: you love walking in the rain
Is it raining outside? Okay, that doesn't scare you! On the contrary, you've been waiting to get out and see the light of day. The rain doesn't stop you, and you love walking in this weather. Some people prefer to keep warm and dry under the comforter, but you're on the "put on your Amelotraincoat and get out there"team ! Now's your chance to bundle up in your favorite rain gear and enjoy the fresh air brought by this water from the sky (literally) 🌧️
Sign 5: the smell of after-rain intoxicates you
Some people hate that smell that lingers after the rain, the smell of wet tar, soaked earth, almost metal at times.
You, on the other hand, find the scent fresh. And with good reason: it's a perfume, not just a scent, that you'd almost carry around with you in a little vial just so you could smell it even on sunny days. It's a bit like those who love the sound of rain and fall asleep with audio, even on the quietest of nights...
So, verdict? Are you a pluviophile or not? ☔
Team pluviophile c’est tout moi 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Bonsoir,
Pfff!! Ca me saoule.
Je suis complètement pluviophile
